英語表示強調的方法很多，比如在口語中可以用重讀來強調，在書面語中則可通過使用表示強調意義的詞語來強調，也可以通過將被強調成分置於句首這樣的「顯要」位置來強調，還可以使用專門的強調句式來強調。
強調句基本句型
1、強調句的陳述句。
句型為：it is /was+被強調的部分＋that/who引導的從句。
原句其他部分。
2、強調句的一般疑問句型：is / was +it+被強調的部分＋that/ who/ whom引導的從句＋原句其他的部分。
3、強調句的特殊疑問句型：特殊疑問詞。
when /where/ why/ who/ what/ how）＋is/ was +it +that從句＋原句的其他清禪遲部分。

1、陳述句的強調句型：it is/ was+被強調部分（通常是主語、賓語或狀語）+that/ who（當強調主語且主語指人）+ 其他部分。
例句：it was yesterday that he met li ping.
2、一般疑問句的強調句型：同上，只是把is/ was提到it前面。
例句：was it yesterday that he met li ping？
3、特殊疑問句的強調句型：被強調部分（通常是疑問代詞或疑問副詞）+ is/ was + it + that/ who + 其他部分？

英語中的強調句的型別為：
1．陳述句的強調句型。itis／was＋被強調部分（通常是主語、賓語或狀語）＋that／who（當強調主語且主語指人）＋其他部分。例子：
it was yesterday that he met liping。
2．一般疑問句的強調句型，同上，只是把is／was提到it前面。例子：was it yesterday that he met liping？
3．特殊疑問句的強調句型。被強調部分（通常是疑問代詞或疑問副詞）＋is／was＋it＋that／who＋其他部分？例子：
when and where was it that you were born。
4．not…until…句型的強調句。句型為：itis／was not until＋被強調部分＋that＋其他部分，普通句：

注意：此句型只用until，不用till。但如果不是強調句型，till，until可通用；因為句型中it is／wasnot．．．已經是否定句了，that後面的從句要用肯定句，切勿再用否定句了。
5．謂語動詞的強調。itis／was．．．that．．．結構不能強調謂語，如果需要強調謂語時，用助動詞do／does或did，dositdown，務必請坐。例句：
do becareful when you cross thes treet，過馬路時，務必（千萬）要小心啊。

要注意的是 強調句去掉it is/was 和that後 還是乙個完整的句子。

強調賓語： itwas the experiment that my father did in the lab yesterday evening.
強調時間： itwas yesterday evening that my father did the experiment in the lab. (注意不用when)
